Biography

Tamara qualified as an Associate into the Dispute Resolution team in 2023. She has experience across a range of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, debt recovery and negligence claims.

Tamara studied French & History of Art (Joint Honours) at The University of Birmingham, with a year abroad as an Erasmus student at Aix-Marseille University, graduating in 2017. Prior to starting her training contract at Teacher Stern, Tamara worked for a national Women’s Aid charity, delivering educational sessions to 16-25 year olds about domestic abuse.

Representative experience:

  • Acting on the group claim (involving 161 claimants) against the Bank of Scotland under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 challenging the terms of a shared appreciation mortgage product. (Various SAM Borrowers v Bank of Scotland).
  • Acting for the Developer in relation to two claims issued against them arising out of new causes of action under the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) in both the First-Tier and Technology and Construction Court.
  • Acting on behalf of the Claimants in relation to a Worldwide Freezing Order against the Defendants and other individuals and companies associated with them who are believed to be in control of certain of the Defendants’ assets.
  • Acting on behalf of a UK-based international events company regarding the infringement of its trademark by a well-known individual in the music industry.
  • Acting on behalf of the Claimant in a long running dispute against a financial management company valued at over £100,000. Successfully recovered full compensation for the Claimant which included the amount owed, plus interest and costs.
  • Successfully disputed a statutory demand valued at over £200,000 to seek its withdrawal, involving multi-jurisdictional aspects.
