Biography
Mike advises in connection with all aspects of real estate litigation including service charge disputes, business tenancy renewals, dilapidations claims, break rights, rights to light, resolving development issues and building exit strategy.
Mike also advises in connection with claims to acquire the freehold, extend leases and collectively enfranchise under both the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 and the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993.
His experience also spans advising institutional investors, nation states, corporate occupiers, high net worth individuals, property developers and financial institutions in a variety of complex high value disputes arising out of both commercial and residential real estate.
Mike is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners.
Experience
- Acted for the successful first defendant RSA in the dilapidations case of PGF II SA & PGF II (Lime) SA v RSA and another
- Acted for a landlord in connection with the administration of The Outdoor Group in order to recover arrears of rent and possession of retail property in central London
- Acted for a landlord in a disputed break case and obtained a substantial surrender premium for the landlord
- Acted for the freeholder of a mansion block undertaking a voluntary lease renewal process involving the grant of new leases to circa 100 residential tenants.
