Representative experience:

  • Acted for the Appellant in a shareholder litigation and €36 million claim, the appeal was heard at the Supreme Court [2024]. The judgments have been reported in The Times and legal press and are likely to feature in commentary to the leading textbooks on the subjects to which they relate.
  • Acted for the Claimant in a dispute which went to trial in April 2023 concerning to the acquisition, redevelopment and ultimate sale of four properties.
  • Advised a client accused of misappropriating documents, trade secrets and confidential information belonging to her previous employer in a high court claim against them. Jess advised on and oversaw forensic experts appointed, and guided the client through a difficult claim with an aggressive previous employer.
  • Advised on a $4 million fraud action arising from an investment in the United States, Jess helped secure a freezing injunction in the UK against main perpetrator of the fraud. Jess worked hard to manage the ongoing litigation in the US, protect our client’s position in the UK whilst also ensuring that our client’s finite funds were used to the best advantage to secure a swift resolution and recovery.
  • Acted on a well-publicised multi-million pound group claim against Barclays Bank under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 challenging the terms of a shared appreciation mortgage product. Jess worked with vulnerable clients to ensure they understood the legal process, the Bank’s correspondence, and that the clients were advised in relation to any settlement.
  • Acting on one of the first Remediation Contribution Orders to be heard by the courts brought under the Building Safety Act 2022.
